This course will equip individuals with the personal skills necessary to fulfil specialist duties when working at height in the firearms role.

Operators will gain a variety of skills to enable access and egress in a variety of environments. The course builds on the basic skills attained during the foundation Police Firearms Officer – Work at Height course (code LT75).

Prerequisites

This course is for Police Authorised Firearms Officers (AFOs) currently qualified at the National Police Firearms Training Curriculum (NPFTC) E3.1 Work at Height level.
Medically fit and healthy (if unsure please contact us)
The minimum age of candidates is 18 years

Course Content

Completion of this course will enable the successful candidate to demonstrate they have achieved the Learning Outcomes and Performance Criteria stipulated by NPFTC Unit of Learning E3.2.

Operators will gain practical skills to enable access and egress in a variety of environments and participate in more complex rope access-based systems including operating within a team carrying out rescue. The course builds on the basic skills attained during the foundation Work at Height course (code LT75).

Assessment

The course assessment is by short written test and practical assessment by Lyon staff. The course will include scenario-based assessments under simulated operational conditions.

Certification

A certificate of attendance and test and ID card record of training will be issued to successful candidates.
Certificate valid for three years from date of assessment.
