Commencing salary likely to be in the region of £32,000 - £36,000 per annum
The Role
Based at our head office in Tebay, you will manage our Logistics department to fulfil a huge variety of orders, from delivering boats to the North of Scotland, to carefully tracked lifesaving equipment into Europe. Your role will be to supervise and control the efficient and accurate flow of goods in and out of the warehouse, ensuring high standards of customer service, inventory control, and order fulfilment through the effective management of the warehouse team, systems and processes.
This is a full-time position which equates to 37.5 hours a week.
Main duties within this role:
Management of our Logistics team, including the day-to-day allocation of tasks
Organise carrier collections from the warehouse & staff to manage them
Liaise with carrier account managers to negotiate and maintain the best possible shipping rates while ensuring the highest levels of service and delivery performance
Accept & book in timed deliveries from suppliers
Ensure despatches are made by the most economical method and in the way required by the customer, delivering same-day despatch for orders received before 1pm
Optimise organisation & layout of warehouse, e.g. stock locations, workstations, packaging, including investigating and instigating improvements
Maintain and keep up to date all export documentation for audit purposes
Monitor and order packaging materials to ensure optimal levels at all times
Manage the delivery of rolling stock check, executed by the warehouse team
Ensure health and safety, and environmental procedures are maintained and understood through monitoring and training
Carry out and review risk assessments of warehouse operations
Ensure maintenance/service of machinery and equipment is up to date and fit for purpose
Ensure hazardous goods and materials are stored, handled, and managed in accordance with relevant legislation and company procedures
Collaborate as part of the management team to share ideas and improve business performance
We are looking for someone with the following criteria:
Extensive experience in a logistics role
Experience managing a team
Comfortable using a range of software including Microsoft 365 package
Experience of using a customer relationship management (CRM) system
Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
Good written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills
Development or change management experience
Organised and self-motivated
Excellent interpersonal skills and confident communication with a range of people
Hold a current full car driving licence (preferably clean) and a current passport
