Rope Rescue Supervisor
Duration - 5 Days :: Course Cost - £800 plus VAT
This course builds on skills introduced in our Rope Rescue Operator course and is designed to meet the specific needs of the emergency services and in particular the Fire and Rescue Service.
The course provides in-depth knowledge, skills and understanding to allow candidates to identify, construct and supervise appropriate, safe and effective rope rescue solutions in their workplace, whether that be a ‘built’ or ‘natural’ environment.
This course is for personnel who are already competent Rope Rescue Operators and who are now required to fulfil the role of Rope Rescue Supervisor within a rescue team.
Applicants for this course will already have experience of work at height. Ideally, they will have attended the Lyon Equipment Rope Rescue Operator course (or equivalent) within the previous 3 years.
Suitably experienced members of mountain and cave rescue teams holding full ‘Operational’ status may gain direct access to this course.
The course includes both theoretical and practical training and provides candidates with a range of challenging scenario-based exercises in a wide variety of situations such as restricted access, sloping roof, pick-off and stretcher rescues involving raises and lowers using twin-line systems. Practical sessions take place in our purpose-built training centre at Tebay and nearby ‘natural’ venues including walls, slabs and river gorge.
Where appropriate, use of the Larkin Rescue Frame is incorporated into this course.
Student to instructor ratio will not exceed 4:1.
Following assessment, successful candidates will be issued with a Lyon Equipment Rope Rescue Supervisor certificate and an ID card record of training, valid for 3 years.
You may also wish to consider our Emergency Casualty Care for Work at Height and Rescue and Rooftop Working courses.
