Police Work At Height Operator
Duration - 5 Days :: Course Cost - £840 plus VAT
Candidates will use a range of equipment and techniques including rope access, work positioning and fall arrest. The course will provide candidates with the skills to safely and effectively use work at height and rope access techniques to perform specialist roles such as searching, compliant protester removal tactics, firearms deployment, hostage & other negotiations plus covert technical installations. The course also covers basic rescue skills.
Police Officers nominated for this course should have an aptitude for working at height. Prior experience of working at height is an advantage but not essential.
This is a largely practical course that will provide candidates with the skills and knowledge required to enable them to perform a specified range of rope access tasks. The course covers relevant legislation, guidelines and standards, safe working practices, inspection and maintenance of equipment, selection and use of anchors, introduction to knots and rigging and a range of work at height techniques and rope access manoeuvres.
Following assessment, successful candidates will be issued with a Lyon Equipment Police Officer Work at Height Operator certificate and an ID card record of training, valid for 3 years.
