Lyon are offering a competition winner, plus a friend, exclusive instruction and guiding from Lyon sponsored team member Andy Turner. Glenmore Lodge is the venue and are generously providing 2 days of food and accommodation for the winner and climbing partner.
Andy Turner has been involved in developing new and challenging Scottish winter climbs for many years with routes including:
The Tempest, ground-up Scotland: M9 (X, 9)
The Secret, onsight Scotland: IX,9,
Cracking Up, No falls. North Wales: IX 9.
Sassenach, FWA Scotland: IX,9
And recent hard ticks and project development at the UK drytooling venues.
He is also a qualified instructor and holds the highest qualification for UK mountaineering & climbing instructing (MIC). We're delighted to be able to team up with Andy and Glenmore Lodge to provide one lucky winner plus friend the opportunity of 2 days of instruction and guiding in the Cairngorms. The exact outline of the 2 days will be dependent on route condition and your own ability, once we have the winners details we'll ask Andy to get in touch to discuss an outline.

The prize dates are 9th and 10th March 2013, with accommodation from the night of Friday 8th March until the afternoon of Sunday 10th.

This competition is open to residents of the UK and Ireland aged over 18 on the 18th January 2013. The prize is for the winner plus a climbing partner of their choice to experience 2 days of winter climbing (instruction or guiding) on 9th and 10th March. Glenmore Lodge's involvement is to provide accommodation and food for 2 on a twin room basis, they are not the provider of the instruction.
Competition entries will close at 12.00 Friday 18th January 2013, the winner will be notified by email by 23rd January and has 5-days to confirm, by electronic means, their details, suitability, and that they are willing and able to take up the prize. If a response is not received by 23.30 on 28th January the prize will be offered to the 2nd placed person.
In the event of a draw the winner will be selected by a random electronic drawing.
To enter the winner must provide their name, email address, and confirm that they are fit and able to undertake mountaineering activities in Scotland. Email addresses will only be used to communicate with the winner, and will not be used for marketing purposes.
The winner will be asked to provide further information in an effort to ensure they meet the required standards (not limited to, but particularly that they are a UK or Irish resident and able to take up the prize).
If the winner or provider(s) are unable to supply, or take up, the prize through events beyond their control (eg weather conditions or other matters preventing travel; damage to the venue; sickness of instructor or winner etc) Lyon will supply the winner with one Petzl helmet, one Petzl harness, and one 60 metre Beal rope of their choice from Lyons available stock.
