Mast and Tower Climbing - 3 days (course code LT17)

It is a requirement to provide suitable and sufficient training in the use of any personal protective equipment.

For mast and tower climbers using fall arrest and work positioning techniques, users must be able to use the equipment in a safe manner and be aware of the limitations of this equipment.

Lyon Equipment offers this course to provide industrial climbers with the detailed information they need to use a harness and lanyards safely, as well training in rescue techniques.

Who is this course for?
Designed for industrial climbers who access all types of lattice structures.

Prerequisite
Minimum age 18 and medically fit.

Course content
This is a mainly practical course, but will cover some background information in the classroom.

Candidates will be shown the use of
- Correct fitting and adjustment of a range of full body harnesses
- Energy absorbing lanyards
- Work positioning lanyards
- Vertical access ladders with fitted vertical safety systems
- A selection of fall protection systems such as fall arrest blocks

The course will cover topics such as
- Equipment selection and inspection
- Access techniques
- Rigging safety lines
- Rescue methods
- Other sessions will include legal, medical and personnel requirements for working at height.

Assessment

Continuous assessment and short written test.

Certification

A certificate of training will be issued upon successful completion of the course.
