Harness and lanyard training - 1 day (course code LT13)
 
It is a requirement to provide suitable and sufficient training in the use of any personal protective equipment.

For fall arrest techniques, users must be able to use the equipment in a safe manner and be aware of the limitations of this equipment.

Lyon have provided this course to cover the basic information a user would need to use a harness and lanyard safely.

Who is this course for?

Designed for users of fall arrest equipment.

This may include for example:
- Scaffolders
- Window Cleaners
- Building Maintenance Workers
- Prerequisite

Minimum age 18 and medically fit.

Course content

This is a mainly practical course, but will cover some background information in the classroom.

Candidates will be shown the use of
- Correct fitting and adjustment of a range of full body harnesses
- Energy absorbing lanyards
- A selection of fall protection systems such as fall arrest blocks

The course will cover topics such as
- The implications of using fall protection techniques
- Consideration of anchor points
- Potential fall distances
- Care, maintenance, inspection and disposal of equipment Assessment Continuous assessment and short written test.

Certification

A certificate of training will be issued upon successful completion of the course.
